Praise God Ministry began in 1998 as a small cell group and was formally established in February 2000 under the “Light House Church” in Kuwait. From these humble beginnings, God has graciously grown this fellowship into a thriving congregation of more than 3,000 believers — a living testimony to the enduring presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
Our congregation brings together people from diverse cultures, faith backgrounds, and walks of life, united in the love of Christ. Led by a dedicated team of pastors and elders, we offer spiritual guidance, prayer, and support to all who seek God’s touch. The many testimonies within our fellowship stand as powerful evidence of answered prayers and transformed lives through the work of the Holy Spirit.

Mission & Purpose
At Praise God Ministry, our mission is to help people connect with faith and experience the transforming power of God’s Word. We are committed to reaching the unreached, uplifting the poor and the illiterate, and bringing hope to those who are oppressed or in bondage. Praise God Ministry was started in 1998 as a small cell group and was established in February 2000 under the “Light House Church” in Kuwait. Today, a congregation of over 3000 believers stands as a living testimony of the Holy Spirit’s presence and guidance. Our congregation includes people from different religions and economic backgrounds, united by the love of Christ. Our pastors and elders listen, counsel, and pray with those in need, and the countless testimonies are the result of answered prayers and the Holy Spirit’s powerful work among us. We believe the Church is called to be a beacon of light—nurturing spiritual growth, strengthening families, and building a caring community rooted in God’s Word. Guided by the vision God placed in our hearts, we continue to minister to the nations by spreading the Gospel through daily Bible messages, services, and outreach programs; supporting those in need through compassion, prayer, and practical help; and equipping believers to live purposeful, faith-filled lives as witnesses of Christ’s love. Pastor Ratna Maitra – Founder and Senior Pastor
Pastor Ratna Maitra’s life is a testimony of faith, resilience, and God’s grace. Her spiritual journey began in 1996 when she accepted Christ and was baptized in the USA. Throughout her life, Pastor Ratna has experienced three near-death situations, each time being saved by the divine grace of the Lord. These life-altering events ignited a fire in her to serve and spread the message of God.
In 1997, following her husband’s relocation from Boston to Kuwait, Pastor Ratna settled in Kuwait and began attending the English language services at the NECK compound. Her passion for understanding the Word of God led her to pursue various church-offered courses, eventually graduating in Theology from The Vision International University, USA in 2005. Her unwavering commitment to her calling was further solidified when she was ordained as a Pastor on May 21, 2006, by Pastor Jerry during the evening service at The Light House Church.
Pastor Ratna is a dynamic leader, speaking English, Telugu, Hindi, and Bengali, which enables her to minister to a diverse community. Her leadership, empathy, and passion for serving those less privileged are the cornerstones of her ministry. She began with a humble cell group that, through God’s blessings, has grown into the thriving congregation of Praise God Ministry today.
In a powerful testimony of love and faith, Pastor Ratna led her husband, Pastor Pinak Maitra, a former Bengali Brahmin, to accept Christ, and he was baptized by Pastor Jerry on April 27, 2001. Together, they have raised two sons, Nikhil and Nirmal, both of whom have excelled academically, receiving the prestigious USA Presidential Award for Excellence and, more importantly, accepting Jesus Christ as their personal savior.
Beyond her ministerial work, Pastor Ratna is known for her compassionate leadership in organizing events like the Sthuthi Swaralapana Festival, a yearly celebration that offers a joyful evening of thanksgiving and entertainment, especially for the underprivileged community in Kuwait. Her vision of spreading love and grace extends through the various ministries she leads at PGM, including children, youth, and women ministries.
Pastor Ratna’s life and ministry continue to inspire, not just within Kuwait, but to all those who have the privilege of hearing her message of hope and transformation.
