### The Manifestation of the Holy Spirit in Scripture
Pastor Gerald begins by posing a question: How do we recognize if someone is filled with the Holy Spirit? Just as a tree is identified by its fruit, a believer's life reveals the presence and power of the Holy Spirit through tangible manifestations and spiritual fruit.

#### 1. The Old Testament Examples
- **Moses and the 70 Elders (Numbers 11:10–17, 25, 29):** When the burden of leading the people became too heavy for Moses, God placed the same Spirit that was upon Moses onto 70 elders to assist him. When two men who remained in the camp also prophesied, Joshua asked Moses to stop them. However, Moses expressed his wish that all of the Lord's people were prophets and that the Lord would put His Spirit on them all.
- **King Saul (1 Samuel 10):** Before becoming king, Saul was given a new heart and filled with the Holy Spirit, leading him to prophesy among the prophets as a sign of God's empowerment for his leadership.
- **Signs and Miracles:** Throughout the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit empowered leaders, prophets, and kings to perform extraordinary miracles, such as Elisha making the axe head float, instant healings, and raising the dead.

#### 2. The New Testament Fulfillment
- **Jesus Christ (Luke 4:18–19):** Jesus operated in the fullness and power of the Holy Spirit throughout His earthly ministry, fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah to preach good news, heal the brokenhearted, and set captives free.
- **The Early Church and Deacons (Acts 6:3–8):** When the early church needed leaders to handle practical duties like food distribution, they selected seven men full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, such as Stephen and Philip. Even in practical administrative roles, Holy Spirit empowerment enabled them to perform signs, wonders, and preach effectively.
- **Philip's Daughters (Acts 21:9):** Philip the evangelist, who started as a deacon distributing food, had four unmarried daughters who prophesied, showing how the Spirit's gifts extend across generations and families.

### Practical Application for Today's Believers
Pastor Gerald emphasizes that being filled with the Holy Spirit is not limited to prophets, priests, or pastors. In the New Testament era, all believers form a 'royal priesthood' (1 Peter 2:9).
