Preaching from John 18:37-38, Pastor Ratna Maitra reflects on the dialogue between Jesus and Pilate concerning kingship and truth. Jesus declared that He was born and entered the world specifically to bear witness to the truth, and all who belong to the truth hear His voice. Though Pilate, the authorities, and the crowds judged, mocked, and crucified Him, none could extinguish or alter divine truth. The enemy propagates lies, slander, and deception to lead people into destruction, but Jesus embodies the living truth that dispels darkness and gives abundant life. Believers are called to reject deceit, adhere to honest speech, and build their lives upon the foundation of God's Word.

Key Truths

  • Jesus entered the world as King to bear witness to the divine truth.
  • Though the world mocked and crucified Christ, the truth remains untouchable and victorious.
  • Lies originate from the enemy and bring spiritual destruction, while Christ's truth brings life and liberty.
  • Believers are called to walk in genuine honesty, letting their 'yes' be yes and their 'no' be no.

Apply It Today

Examine your everyday speech and conduct, renouncing exaggeration, false accusations, and deceptive promises in favor of simple, loving truth.

Reflect

In what areas of your daily life are you tempted to compromise the truth instead of trusting Christ as your firm foundation?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are the King and the embodiment of truth. Deliver us from all deception and the schemes of the enemy. Strengthen our faith, cleanse our hearts, and help our words to always be honest and grounded in Your Word. Amen.
